DL Team gather existing data → create the team/committee → gather new data→ compile current state → develop vision → write future story/state → create implementation plan → assign responsibility → assess/revise

November 1, 2007

- Ann will get Course Success Data for Different Modalities.

- Heath (IRP) will be a liaison.

- Nan will be invited in future.

- Patti will take on budget part of planning. Will have conversation with Todd Hurley. –

- David passed out survey for review. Will make suggested revisions.

- Garry will investigate the capacity of other community colleges.

- Ann will get New Student Orientation Survey - Technology information.

- Mark may facilitate a future scanning, and different environments.

- All will consider distance v. flexible learning or instructional technology.

- All will consider improving student success, reaching the community, online course requirements for HS, increasing dual enrollment (e.g. Allegan and Holland), and making a profit.

- Eric will investigate and report on K-20 initiatives

- Garry will invite others into the planning by February 7.

December 6, 2007

- Made announcement about formation of new unit, office and position moves.

- Discussed Winter 2008 orientations for online and telecourses. Also discussed instructor training for ITV.

- Met with Heath from IRP. Will get questions to Heath at the start of next semester for survey. All DL students will be surveyed via Zoomerang at the start and end of each semester. We need to learn if students registered for the right type of course, if the course met their expectations, if they were prepared, and issues around retention.

- Wiki was introduced. Team members will begin editing.   

February 5, 2008

- Met with Bill Ouchark for a Blackboard overview and process discussion.

- Discussed Provost Pulse, Glenn Parker's script and Greenhouse Grant.

- Patti wants to know how much use for grading, discussion board, wiki, and other tools.

- According to Eric, Provost Pulse is user-centric and not tool-centric.
